ETA Cal. 2834-2 is an automatic movement with day and date wheels. Unusually, the day function uses an outer wheel, showing the complete name at 12:00 with the date shown at 3:00. This arrangement is often associated with the famous Rolex Day-Date “President” model, though that uses a different movement. The outer wheel required a larger 13 ligne main plate.
Cal. 2834-2 is part of the standard “Mecaline” line at ETA and is still produced as of 2019. It replaced Cal. 2834-1 in 1982.Images are taken from official publications and are used here for commentary and educational purposes. Copyright is held by the original owner as noted.
