Daini Seikosha ("the Second Seikosha") was founded in 1937 as a watch production operation for Seikosha K. Hattori & Co, Ltd., forerunner of today's Seiko. Daini became Seiko Instruments & Electronics in 1985. After becoming part of Seiko Holdings in 2009, the high-end watchmaking operation of Seiko Instruments became known as Shizukuishi Watch Studio, maker of Grand Seiko, Credor, and high-end watches and movements.
