Cal. SW200-1 is an automatic movement with date from Sellita similar to the ETA 2824-2. Like other Sellita SW200 movements, it is based on the design of the ETA 2800 family. Sellita has produced this movement since 2007, and it is considered to be the basic movement in their SW200 movement family.
Cal. SW400-1 is a similar movement with a larger diameter date disc for larger watches. It measures 31 mm in diameter. Cal. SW215-1 is the equivalent hand-winding movement.
Sellita SW200-1 Applications
Many manufacturers base their movements on the Sellita SW200-1. Similar movements that vary only in decoration include Frederique Constant FC-303, JeanRichard JR60, Montblanc MB 24.15 and MB 24.17, Oris 732 and 733, and TAG Heuer Calibre 5. Movements based on the SW200-1 with modules or more modifications include Frederique Constant FC-330, Montblanc MB 29.13, MB 29.14, and MB 29.18, Mühle SW 200-1, and Oris 754 and 761.
Sellita SW200 Technical Information
All automatic winding members of the SW200 family include bi-directional winding using a central rotor. The winding mechanism contributes to the overall thickness of the movement, adding 1 mm compared to the more-integrated winding system on the SW300/2892.
The Sellita SW200 design includes an extra jewel (bringing the total to 26) between the barrel and ratchet wheel. This serves mainly as a technical differentiator between the movements and is not an area of deficiency in the original design.
In 2008, Sellita modified the tooth profile of three wheels in the winding system to make them more resistant to shocks and wear. This resulted in the “-1” series of movements (e.g. SW220 became SW220-1). All other components are identical between these movements.
The similar SW400 movements are larger, at 31.00 mm diameter, but are otherwise similar in design and construction.
