Cal. 3130 is a time-only automatic movement produced by Rolex from 2001 through the present. This movement was part of the Rolex 3100 movement family, and shares many attributes with the popular Cal. 3135 of the same era. It replaced Cal. 3000 in the Air-King, Submariner, and Explorer. Starting in 2010, Rolex updated Cal. 3130 with a Parachrom hairspring, though the name continued. Some models were also equipped with the new Cal. 3132, a movement that continues in production today.

One major upgrade for the 3100 family was the use of a full balance bridge rather than the simple balance cock used previously. This added stability and durability to an already well-respected movement. The balance is made of the advanced beryllium/copper alloy known as Glucydur and uses Microstella regulation using four screws inside. The balance uses a Nivarox hairspring, the only component not produced in-house by Rolex, and features a Breguet overcoil laser welded to the balance stud. The automatic winding gears, coated in PTFE, are deep red colored, and the rotor uses synthetic rubies rather than ball bearings. Most 3100 movements still use the Kif Elastor anti-shock system on the balance.
Cal. 3130 Parachrom
In 2010, Rolex updated Cal. 3130 with the Parachrom hairspring found on other updated movements of that era. They continued using the same name, Cal. 3130, and most other elements remain unchanged. In particular, this movement retains the Kif Elastor shock absorbers rather than the new Rolex in-house Paraflex shock absorber on the balance wheel.
The updated Cal. 3130 remains in use as of 2019 in time-only Oyster Perpetual and Submariner models. The larger Oyster Perpetual 39 and new Explorer use the Cal. 3132 instead.
