The Cal. 2390/2450 family was a group of related compact watch movements produced by ETA in the 1950s. It was available with both manual and central rotor automatic winding, with and without a date wheel, and in both 10.5 and 11.5 ligne diameters. The later 2408, 2471, and 2472 feature updates to the date mechanism. No day-date version was produced.
Calibres 2390 and 2450 was the predecessor to the 2500, 2750, 2800, and 2850 series, though all components have been redesigned in today’s popular ETA 2824-2. Because nearly every part was new and the basic architecture was brought forward, this can be considered to be the original movement in this line, but only the clutch wheel was the same in the successor Cal. 2500 family.
