Cal. 2070 was used by Sinn in the short-lived Model 142 St II chronograph. It is a 4-subdial chronograph module on an ETA 2892A2 ebauche.
ETA Lemania chose to end production of their Cal. 5100 in 1997, though they ultimately continued to produce the movement through 2003. Sinn announced at the Basel Fair that year that they were developing an in-house movement based on the ETA 7750 to replace the Lemania 5100 the following year. But this development proved more difficult than expected, with Cal. SZ01 not ultimately released until 2011.

Wanting to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Prof. Dr. Reinhard Furrer’s 1985 use of a Sinn 140 Chronograph on Space Shuttle mission D1, Sinn designed the Model 142 St II Space Chronograph for release in 2005. This replaced the existing Model 142 St, which used the Lemania movement. The company worked with Dubois-Dépraz to develop Cal. 2070 to replicate the look of the Lemania 5100 with additional complications. The key feature was a central chronograph minutes hand like the classic Lemania movement. A variant with a tide bezel, Model 142 St II GZ, was added in 2010, and these remained in the Sinn catalog through 2012. A new Model 140 St with Sinn’s Cal. SZ01 was launched at the Basel fair in 2012 to replace the two Model St II watches with Cal. 2070.
