Cal. C.125 is an automatic monopusher chronograph movement with a unique regulator dial layout from Chronoswiss. Although still based on the classic Enicar Cal. 165 like Cal. C.122, this movement is extensively modified to make room for a novel, patented chronograph mechanism.
True to Chronoswiss history, Cal. C.125 is a regulator, with the hour hand moved to a subdial at 12:00 and small seconds at 6:00. However, the central minute hand doubles as a chronograph minute counter, a patented mechanism never before attempted. And chronograph seconds are also found at the center of the dial.
The chronograph mechanism is directly mounted to the top plate of the movement behind the dial. It is thus an “integrated” rather than “modular” design, even though it uses a time-only base movement. It uses a column wheel for the chronograph, set on ball bearings into the plate on the dial side of the movement. In all, 38 components of the movement are manufactured specially for this Chronoswiss model.
Cal. C.125 was used in the Chronoswiss Chronoscope and limited-edition Tachoscope models. The German magazine, “Welt am Sonntag” awarded the Cal. 125 Chronoscope “Watch of the Year” in 2003.
