Seiko Cal. 4R57A (commonly called just Cal. 4R57) is a mainstream automatic movement with central power reserve pointer from 10:00 to 4:00 and date by pointer subdial at 6:00. It is closely related to the date-only Cal. 4R35. Since 2017, Cal. 4R57A is also sold by Time Module Inc. (TMI) as Cal. NE57A to other manufacturers.
Hand winding is accomplished with the crown in first position, rotating clockwise. Quick date correction is accomplished with the crown pulled out in second position, rotating counter-clockwise.

The movement can be manually wound with the crown in position 1. Rotate the crown clockwise to wind the mainspring.
The date wheel is advanced with the crown in second position (one notch out). Turn the crown counter-clockwise to advance the date wheel by one day.
The time is set with the crown in third position (pulled all the way out). Rotate the crown clockwise to advance the minute and hour hands and counter-clockwise to turn them backward.
